CFP: Gaming the Gothic

When I was a little kid, I was obsessed with the spooky elements in digital gaming. My favourite Super Mario levels where the Ghost House stages, Zombies Ate My Neighbors was like looking into a more honest mirror, and once Resident Evil came out I was never the same. Now that I’m an adult, I am working on a PhD in Spooky Gaming. (Technically the Ludology of the Gothic, but who’s counting?) Which is why I was beyond happy when Gaming the Gothic reached out to me to be on their organizing committee. Gaming the Gothic is a conference aimed at researchers in all stages of their careers with an interest in the Gothic aspects of gaming, to be held at Sheffield University under their Reimagining the Gothic banner. Whether your interest is in tabletop, LARP, digital gaming, or anywhere in-between and whether you’re an Undergraduate, a PhD Researcher, or an Early Career Researcher, Gaming the Gothic is the place for you. The CFP officially ends on March 5th with the conference to take place on April 13th! (Cue the theme music for Friday the 13th on the NES.)

Check out the CFP for more information and how to submit your abstract!
