Playtest Poppycock, a cutthroat game of Regency era matchmaking
Join Joe Macleod-Iredale and the Man Met Game Centre to playtest Poppycock, a cutthroat game of Regency era matchmaking. Poppycock is a card game in development in which players attempt to marry off their children for the maximum advantage whilst sabotaging their rivals at every turn.
During this playtest, participants will be encouraged to give their feedback and thoughts on the game. We are particularly keen for any input from those with historical expertise and to consider queer and nonbinary perspectives. All are welcome!
Joe Macleod-Iredale is a game designer, Art and Design Lecturer at Salford and doctoral researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University. His work investigates how board game design approaches can be used by design educators to prepare students for the creative industries.
