ALEX BROOKE ‘EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHMS FOR USER RESPONSIVE GAMES’

Alex’s talk will delve into the validity of The Unified Model of Personality and Play Style, a model grouping together some of the most popular personality and game play style typologies used in research and game design into a single system. Whilst many of the groupings have inherent links, some areas of the model are much more debatable, and may not stand up to empirical evidence.

REIJI NAGAOKA, ‘REVIVING ALTERNATIVE FUTURE CITIES: COGNITIVE CLIMATE BEHAVIOUR IN AN URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME’

Reiji’s talk will explore the use of multiplayer online games to explore climate behaviour. He will introduce his PhD project, which examines interactive and collective player behaviours in dynamic game environments through a combination of game making and the analysis of player activity.
