About this event

This talk is led Dr Dylan Yamada-Rice, Senior Lecturer in Immersive Storytelling:

‘In this talk I will introduce my work in research and design of stories and play. Through a whistle stop tour of some recent projects, I will show how experimental methods and interdisciplinary approaches are at the heart of my work. Such as, by combining social science research methods with art and design practices throughout the design and development processes. Recently, this includes work on the CBBC show “Moon and Me”, a mixed realities playkit to prepare children for an MRI scan, a VR experience made for the Young V&A and a series of experimental data collecting experience machines used by theatre companies and galleries.

I will invite the audience to think about how my motto: “Collaborate or Die” could be used to imagine alternate futures, both in the ways in which we undertake research and design but also in prioritising what should be at the heart of our practice right now.’
