Dr Steven Dashiell - Our first International Research Fellow

Dr Steven Dashiell

We are delighted to welcome Dr Steven Dashiell to the Manchester Game Centre as our first International Research fellow.

Dr. Steven Dashiell is Research Assistant Professor at Morgan State University, a historically Black college/university (HBCU) in the United States, and a Researcher in Residence at American University, affiliated with their Game Center. A sociologist and budding linguistic anthropologist, Dr. Dashiell studies the discourses in gaming culture and how they impact players, games, and the broader social world. He has published work concerning games in Scientific American, The Journal of Men's Studies, Cultural Studies <-> Critical Methodologies, Games & Culture, and other locations.

Dr Dashiell’s first visit to Manchester will be in September to coincide with our Games Workshop Research and Play Convention.
